Tasting notes: Light aromas of ripe apple with a hint of grassiness. Soft sweet fragrant flavours, but with a light oily finish. No bitterness and the faintest pepperyness on the finish. Overall the oil is on the bland side. Not the “full bodied” oil claimed on the label. I would call it unobtrusive, and inoffensive. A sound commercial offering, but needs more olive character to stand out amongst offerings in this high volume market.
Recommended use: Lightly flavoured foods and lighter salads
Comment: It is good to see the oil packaged in a dark glass bottle. Aesthetically though, the packaging is a little daggy, particularly the thin plastic covering over the cap. I also think that the brand name is a little presumptuous – but that’s marketing for you.
I was surprised to see that a batch number was not provided as is required. Perhaps the best by date was a proxy batch number, but this shoud be made clear.
